Hey Buddy,
Today is Mommy's birthday! I have been telling you this since last night right? Hehe..
We have already celebrated with your grandparents and uncle on Sun, at Causeway Bay HK Cafe @ Causeway Point.
However, since today is the actual day, it is still a meaningful and special day for Mommy. Some people will take this day to reflect and some will take it as a starting point for some special resolution they have made for themselves on this day. There are some who will count their blessings and deep in their hearts thank those who have cared for them.
I was thinking perhaps I will take this opportunity to note down some of the things that Daddy has done for us during my pregnancy. Then you will know what a wonderful Daddy you have.
1. There was once Mommy was extremely exhausted after work. So tired that she took a nap right after she returned home. Daddy wasn't back yet. So Mommy slept... An hour or two later, in her semi-conscious state, Mommy heard someone singing and was roused from her sleep. Then in the darkness she saw Daddy, knelt down by the bedside, one hand holding his Samsung Note, singing baby songs to her bulging tummy...
2. Daddy has been talking and singing to you as much as he could each day. Sometimes he would treat Mommy's navel as the communication port to you, as we thought your head would be somewhere near there at this stage. 'Cos this was what we had seen in the detailed scan a month ago.
However, we went for another scan yesterday, and the scan revealed that you have turned head down and in the anterior position, which means that you have been head-down, bottom-up for quite some time after the previous scan. So it meant that all these while, Daddy has been speaking to...
3. Mommy feels bad writing about this one:
As again, Mommy was tired after work. Hence, she went for a nap while waiting for Daddy to return from work. She slept and slept, till some time after 9pm, she was roused awake by the house phone ringing in the study.
9pm! Mommy noticed that the bedroom was still in darkness, which shouldn't be the case if Daddy was around. Normally Daddy would be home by 7pm, so something was amiss. She checked her iphone, which was in silent mode and there was 3 missed calls from Daddy. Then the doorbell rang...
Mommy realized something and quickly jumped out of bed to answer the door. Deep down inside, she knew what happened...
As she opened the door, Daddy appeared, looking tired but smiling. Poor Daddy, he has forgotten to bring the house key to work and from 7pm-9pm, was patiently waiting outside the house for Mommy to wake up and open the door...
Mommy was quite heartbroken to see Daddy in this state, but all Daddy has said was that he was glad that Mommy had a good rest.
You know, Daddy has done some other stuff which I shall not elaborate here. In another blog post perhaps. But all you should know is that Daddy is a wonderful man and a great dad-to-be.
Thanks Daddy!
Love,
Mommy
